Things to Do in Pensacola This Week: Oct. 5 to 11, 2026
Cannoli downtown on Friday. Polka at the Flora-Bama on Sunday. Songwriters playing with their toes in the sand all weekend long. This might be the most delicious week of the whole fall calendar on the Gulf Coast!
I'm Christina Leavenworth, your favorite local REALTOR® who keeps up with everything happening in Pensacola so you don't have to. Here's what I'd plan your week around, plus a few local updates worth knowing before you head out.

Bands on the Beach: The Astronauts
Tuesday, Oct. 6 | 7 PM to 9 PM | Gulfside Pavilion, Casino Beach
The Astronauts are a six-piece party band playing hits from the '80s, '90s and beyond. The show is free, and the Gulf is right behind the stage. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket. Leave the pets and glass at home.
Don't wait too long on this one. After this week there are only three Tuesdays left in the season, and the final show is Oct. 27. Details are on Visit Pensacola.
Thursday to Sunday: Songwriters Festival on Pensacola Beach
Pensacola Beach Songwriters Festival, beach weekend
Thursday, Oct. 8 through Sunday, Oct. 11 | Pensacola Beach
The festival spent last weekend in Downtown Pensacola. Now it moves out to the sand. Beach venues include Flounder's Chowder House, Salty Rose at The Pensacola Beach Resort, The Landing at Red Fish Blue Fish, Hampton Inn and Hilton Pensacola Beach.
Featured writers include Thompson Square, Jamie O'Neal, Jeffrey Steele, Anthony Smith and Craig Campbell. These are the people behind songs you already know by heart, telling the stories of how they were written.
Some shows are free and some are ticketed. Check the official festival site for who's playing where before you head over the bridge.
Friday and Saturday: Festa Italiana
Festa Italiana
Friday, Oct. 9 and Saturday, Oct. 10 | 11 AM to 6 PM | Fountain Park, Downtown Pensacola
Scampi. Lasagna. Sausage and peppers. Cannoli! Festa Italiana is free to get in, with live music, demonstrations, a silent auction and a kids' area. Even better, it raises money for charity and scholarships.
Free parking is available at Bartram Park. Get the full details from Visit Pensacola.
Saturday: Palafox Market
Palafox Market
Saturday, Oct. 10 | 9 AM to 2 PM, rain or shine | MLK Jr. Plaza and Plaza Ferdinand
Here's my Saturday plan... coffee and a lap through Palafox Market in the morning, then a short walk over to Festa for lunch. Local produce, plants, baked goods and handmade finds, right in the middle of Downtown Pensacola.
Sunday: Flora-Bama Oktoberfest
Flora-Bama Oktoberfest
Sunday, Oct. 11 | 3 PM to 6 PM | Flora-Bama Tent Stage, 17401 Perdido Key Dr.
Wrap up the week out at Perdido Key. Oktoberfest at the Flora-Bama is free and open to all ages. There's free German food starting at 4 PM, a stein-hoisting contest (registration opens at 2 PM), lederhosen and dirndl contests and polka from The Brats. Guests 21 and up get one free drink at the door.
All the details are on the Flora-Bama's site.
Heads Up, Pensacola
You can walk family to the gate again at PNS
TSA's new Gateside program is now live at Pensacola International Airport. If you're already a TSA PreCheck member, you can apply online 1 to 3 days ahead for a one-day pass. It lets you go through security without a boarding pass, so you can walk someone to their gate or meet them when they land. WEAR has the details.
Night lane closures on I-10 through Thursday
Crews are resurfacing I-10 between US 29 and Davis Hwy and paving west toward the Perdido River, 8 PM to 6 AM through Oct. 8. There's also night work on I-110. If you drive late, give yourself extra time. Here's this week's full road work list.
Help pick the new Fricker Center playground
The City of Pensacola wants your vote on the playground design for the renovated Fricker Resource Center. Choose between "Red, White and Blue" and "Teal and Green" at frcrenovation.com through Oct. 23. The center is scheduled to reopen in summer 2027. Read the city's update.
Save the Date
Pensacola Interstate Fair: Oct. 22 through Nov. 1 at the fairgrounds on W. Mobile Hwy. Grandstand shows include The Band Perry, Hunter Hayes and Lauren Alaina. See pensacolafair.com.
Taste of the Beach: the main food festival is Saturday, Oct. 31 at the Gulfside Pavilion on Pensacola Beach, with dishes from local beach restaurants. See Visit Pensacola.
A Quick Note on the Pensacola Housing Market
If you're thinking about buying or selling this fall, here's the latest from the Pensacola Association of REALTORS® August 2026 report. 794 homes and condos sold, and the median sale price held at $325,000. Pending sales were up 9.7% from last August.
The number that jumped out at me? New condo listings rose 54.4% year over year. If you've been waiting for more condo options around Pensacola, there's a lot more to look at right now. September's numbers come out later this month.
